Who says the genre is being led by the new kids? Sure, I admit there is some really great stuff out there and an enormous amount of it, but the day that Autechre becomes obsolete or unimportant is still a long way off. Secondarily, I think it is appropriate to compare new releases to Autechre because they set the standard years ago with Tri Repetae and Incunabula and all the rest of 'em. And besides, I reckon the majority of electronic music fans out there, and certainly the vast majority of those on this list have at least heard or are quite familiar with those albums. Someday there will be a new standard and Ae won't be as "important" as they are today, but let's not be too hasty. New topic: Does anybody know the venue for the Phthalocyanine show this Saturday in LA? There's all sorts of noisy dj's and artists on the bill, he's just the only one I could remember. Thanks. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
